On Saturday, 11/13/21 at approx.1800 Custer County SAR was called out for an injured party from an ATV accident near Hermit Lake. Flight For Life Colorado and Custer County EMS and Fire initially responded to the call, but because the accident occurred off-trail in steep and difficult terrain, they were unable to access the subject. CCSAR teams reached the injured subject at 2145, performed a medical assessment and began a technical lower. After lowering the subject approximately 2000′ back to Hermit Road, the subject was transported to the bottom of the 4WD road to meet up with an ambulance. All teams were out of the field by 0345.
